Abstract

The study of the effects of the recent worldwide outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) is very important, especially for the construction industry. Different sort of restrictions has been implemented around the globe to prevent the spread of this pandemic disease. In this context, the construction industry has been adversely affected. This document covers the fundamental guidelines for the execution of civil engineering works under FIDIC during the current lockdown situation and also the implementation of all necessary precautionary measures for the health and safety of construction workers and staff to avoid the spread of COVID-19 at the construction site. This paper summarizes the relevant contract clauses for successful contract execution under FIDIC. The principal guidelines provided in this paper are equally fruitful for all project players in the construction industry.
